okay, so firstly, an apology is in order.
I’ve skipped a couple days, friends 😦
in part due to insane, miserable sickiness/allergy reaction/whatever it is.
BUT I’M BACK NOW.
I was really beating myself up about it, but I’ve decided to stop that and just jump in again full-swing. 🙂
WITH ICE CREAM! 😀
I’m never buying ice cream again… know why?
and guess what?
you DON’T need an ice cream machine! (applause)
just a few basic ingredients, and you’re good to go!
the other great thing about this ice cream, is that working with a simple base, you can really add any flavor you want to it and be pretty much guaranteed that it’s going to come out awesome.
I made a coconut chai variation, but play around with it, guys! 🙂
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
2 tsp vanilla
(that’s your simple base right there! just that will make you some pretty suh-weet vanilla ice cream!)
1 chai tea bag (I used tazo brand… and I know two are pictured, but you really only need one. sorry!)
1/4 cup shaved coconut
1/4 cup water
1. heat your 1/4 cup water and steep your tea bag in there for a good 10-15 minutes. you want it really strong!!
3. fold in your sweetened condensed milk and add the coconut and super strong chai tea. stir it all together and pour into a freezer-safe container.
4. either make sure your container has a lid, or just cover it with plastic wrap like I did.
6. EAT UP! 🙂
what flavor are you going to try?
I’m thinking mint is next on my list 😉
let me know, and post your own yummy flavor ideas in the comments!
